This universe is your context. None of us starts with a blank canvas. No matter how much we\u2019d love that luxury, you\u2019re stepping into a living, breathing ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can\u2019t work with a universe you haven\u2019t observed. Jacqueline Novogratz puts it nicely: \u201cTo be a change-maker, you need to understand the web you\u2019re trying to reweave.\u201d\u00b9<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Understanding your universe guides you through three critical steps to make sense of the context you operate in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1 Know Who You\u2019re Orbiting With<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Learn to read the people around you, the ones you\u2019ll build with and the ones who quietly hold the levers of progress or resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2 Map the Tangibles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Get clear on the visible structures and mechanics: the services, processes, policies, systems, and data. This is the physical landscape you must navigate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3 Map the Intangibles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Decode the invisible forces: culture, fears and motivations, power dynamics, rituals, and stories. These are the political and social dynamics you must navigate.
